John Maxwell Graham was born in Glasgow in 1847 , son of Charles Maxwell Graham, a merchant. On the 22nd July 1875, John was appointed as the Assistant Registrar of Births etc to Peter Ferguson for the district of Dennistoun (Glasgow). John studied medicine at the University of Glasgow during the sessions 1876-77, 1878-79, 1879-80, 1880-81 and 1881-82. He does not appear to have graduated from Glasgow University and may have completed his studies at another institution. According to his grandson...

These are Economic History lecture notes, possibly a lecturer's own notes. There are 6 notebooks within a slipcase. On the slipcase is written in pencil "Dr James Cunnison? Alec Macfie?" The identification of the author of these notes is not certain. There is one letter within volume 6 addressed to Dr Cunnison, but without a comparison of handwriting it has not possible to assign these notes to Dr Cunnison. References within the notes would indicate that they were written after 1924. ...
